India’s Home OF Reggae Culture
What began in 2016 as a small gathering has grown into a space where reggae artists and audiences from India and around the world come together, not just for the music, but for the culture and community that surrounds it.

Music, Culture and Connection
Each January, Goa Sunsplash brings together a global community on the beaches of Goa. Built around reggae, sound system culture, and a shared love for the music. It’s not just about the lineup, but the energy that forms when like minded people from different parts of the world come together in one place.
Across multiple stages, the festival blends roots, dub, dancehall and sound system sessions, with artists like Johnny Osbourne, Luciano, Macka B, Channel One Sound System, Anthony B, Queen Omega, Killa P and General Levy having been part of the journey.
Over 10 editions in, the focus remains the same: keep the culture & community at the centre, and let everything else grow around it.

The Reggae Scene in India
Reggae in India has been growing steadily over the years, with artists and communities building the scene across the country. What was once niche is now finding its place in clubs, festivals and independent spaces.
International artists like Shaggy, The Wailers, UB40 and Julian Marley have played in India, while local artists continue to shape the sound and push it forward.
At the same time, handcrafted sound systems are beginning to take root, changing how reggae is experienced and bringing it closer to its origins.
Goa Sunsplash sits within this movement, creating a space where it comes together each year on the beaches of Goa.
