Mejied Kyrpang a.k.a Rapturous, is one of the most talented artists to have come out from the Eastern Frontiers of India in recent memory.
Hailing from the 'Scotland of the East'- Shillong, the 24 year old is an alum and one of the original members of the reputed ymphonic Movement (Shillong). Growing up in a Christian household, the young artist is a very spiritual soul. Moreover, his experience with the movement is quite conspicuous in his music- which incorporates elements of Rastafari, reggae, R&B, along with powerful lyrics which touch upon important social issues; delivered in both English and his native tongue, Khasi.
His sole goal and drive for his music is to spread the message of Jah. As music, for him, is an outlet which enables him to cope with depression and anxiety.
MEJIED, in his relatively young professional career, has achieved many accolades but it is only the tip of the iceberg.
He has been a regular name in the much revered underground hip-hop scene of Shillong. Moreover, he has performed in major festivals such as GOA Sunsplash 2020, Autumn Festival Shillong, NH7 Weekender, and Ziro Festival of Music, amongst many others.
In 2019, when he was still an integral part of the Symphonic Movement, he collaborated with NBA for their series UBER X NBA Hoop Nation and performed an original rap score, which sought to bring to the fore the incredible journey of the 'Girls of Gangyap'.
